The tool helps researchers, consultants, and water managers compare crops, regions, publishers, and methodologies while separating published values from preliminary screening estimates. By organizing evidence and highlighting uncertainty, it supports more transparent irrigation planning, crop selection, and policy discussion. Its sustainability value lies in identifying water-intensive production systems, improving reuse and allocation decisions, reducing hidden virtual-water risks, and guiding climate-smart agriculture across farms, supply chains, research institutions, and national programs. Ultimately, the platform strengthens data-driven decisions that conserve freshwater, improve productivity, and protect ecosystems.
